I believe, to quote W. K. Clifford, that "it is wrong, always, everywhere, and for anyone, to believe anything upon insufficient evidence." Why? Because if you assert something you have no reason to think is true, you are bearing false witness about reality. I want reality, and so I must always go where the evidence leads. This means it is my goal to be open to rational arguments on any subject.
I began converting from Presbyterianism to Catholicism on March 14, 2015. Therefore, any post before that date was written by a Protestant and may, to varying degrees, reflect Protestant assumptions.
Bible quotations
Bible quotations are taken from the KJV unless otherwise noted (except for a few cases where I've made my own version--and sometimes I will tweak the KJV's language a bit). This is because I got tired of trying to work out all the copyright details when quoting from other versions, while the KJV is in the public domain. I take my biblical text typically from the www.biblegateway.com website (again, sometimes with some tweaking).
